Financial & Health Disclaimer

Last reviewed: 2026

Please read this carefully. The calculators and content on urcalculator.com are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They are estimates, not professional advice, and should not be relied on as the sole basis for any financial, tax, medical, or other decision.

Not financial or tax advice

Our finance and tax calculators produce estimates based on the rates and assumptions described on each page. Tax is complex and individual: credits, deductions, additional income, filing status, and local rules can change your actual result significantly. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, investment, accounting, or tax advice, and we are not a registered advisor or tax preparer. Before acting, consult a qualified accountant, tax professional, or financial advisor who can review your full circumstances.

Not medical advice

Our health and fitness calculators (such as BMI, calorie, and BMR tools) provide general population estimates using standard formulas. They are not a medical diagnosis and do not account for your individual health history. They may be inaccurate for athletes, pregnant or nursing people, children, older adults, and those with certain medical conditions. Always speak with a physician or qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet, exercise, or health routine.

Accuracy and currency of information

We work hard to keep rates and formulas accurate and current, and we show a "last reviewed" date on relevant pages. However, laws and official rates change, and errors can occur. We make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any result or content.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, urcalculator.com and its operators accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the calculators or content on this site. You use the site at your own risk.

Third-party links

Some pages link to third-party websites or products, occasionally through affiliate arrangements. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link is not an endorsement, and you should review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

What an estimate can and cannot tell you

It is worth being precise about the difference between a calculation and a conclusion. Our tools take the figures you enter, apply a published formula or an official rate schedule, and return the arithmetic result. That is genuinely useful for comparing options, sanity-checking a payslip, or understanding how a number is built up.

What the arithmetic cannot do is know your circumstances. A tax calculator does not know about a capital gain you realised, a tuition credit you can claim, a period of part-year residency, self-employment income, or a benefit that claws back above a threshold. A mortgage calculator does not know your lender's specific qualifying rules or the fees they will add. A health calculator does not know your body composition, medical history, or medication. Wherever your situation departs from the simplified model described on the page, the result will depart from reality too — sometimes by a little, sometimes by a lot.

Market data and investment tools

Our investment calculators use historical market data supplied by third-party data providers. Historical figures are provided on an "as is" basis and may be delayed, adjusted, restated, or occasionally incomplete. Prices are refreshed periodically rather than in real time, so figures shown here should never be used for trading decisions or to value a holding at a particular moment.

Where a tool projects a portfolio forward, it does so using assumptions you supply — an expected growth rate, a contribution amount, a time period. Those projections are hypothetical illustrations of arithmetic, not forecasts. Past performance does not guarantee or indicate future results. Real investment returns vary, include losing periods, and can result in the loss of some or all of the money invested. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, and we are not a broker, dealer, or registered investment adviser in any jurisdiction.

Jurisdiction and coverage

This site is built for users in the United States and Canada, and its tax, payroll and sales-tax tools reflect rules in those two countries only. If you are taxed elsewhere, or are subject to more than one country's rules, the figures here will not apply to you. Even within the US and Canada, state, provincial and municipal variations exist that a general calculator cannot fully capture.

Tax years and changing rules

Tax rates, contribution ceilings, and thresholds are set annually and can change mid-year through legislation. Each relevant page states the tax year it applies to and carries a "last reviewed" date. If you are working on a filing for a different year, or reading this some time after the review date, verify the underlying figures against the official source — the CRA in Canada, or the IRS in the United States — before relying on them.

No professional relationship

Using this site, contacting us, or receiving a reply does not create an accountant-client, adviser-client, broker-client, fiduciary, or doctor-patient relationship. We cannot and do not provide advice tailored to an individual's circumstances, and any general response to a question should not be treated as such. For decisions that carry financial, legal, tax or medical consequences, engage a qualified professional who is able to review your full situation and who is accountable for the advice they give.

Availability of the service

We aim to keep the site available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Pages, tools and data sources may be unavailable, changed, or withdrawn without notice, including for maintenance or where a third-party provider changes its service.

Your acceptance

By using urcalculator.com you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer, that the results you obtain are estimates produced from the information you provide, and that any decision you take remains your own responsibility. If you do not accept these terms, please do not rely on the calculators or content on this site.
